Gevril Hudson Yards Old Radium Dial - Diver

Gevril Hudson Yards Old Radium Dial - Diver

Emerging as the pinnacle of refinement within the Divers Collection, the Hudson Yards edition transcends horological boundaries to encapsulate the very essence of Manhattan's vibrant lower west side gated community. A symphony of culture and commerce, this collection is more than timekeeping – it's an embodiment of aspiration and achievement. In every sense, whether beneath the waves or atop exquisite dining, the Hudson Yards stands as a resolute victor.

A tapestry woven with the threads of luxury and versatility, the Hudson Yards collection unveils itself in seven distinctive styles, each a symphony of bold statements harmoniously designed for the depths of 300 meters below or the elegance of fine dining above. Adorning the wrist with a canvas of classic black, vibrant green, or the enigmatic diver blue watch face, the opulent allure extends to the options of gold or silver stainless steel, each a masterpiece meticulously assembled with Sellita’s hallmark Swiss automatic movements. Beyond the superficial grandeur, this collection is more than mere aesthetics – it resonates with water resistance up to an astounding 300 meters or 1,000 feet, encompassing a helium release valve that attests to its unwavering seriousness in catering to the most audacious of divers.

The bracelet, an exquisite embodiment of both form and function, evokes the meticulous craftsmanship of a finely woven mesh band. Crafted for unparalleled durability, it stands as a testament to strength that defies breaking or bending. This design is a seamless fusion of aesthetics and utility, adorned with luminous markers and a ceramic rotating bezel—a captivating interplay of light and shadow that transforms it from a mere accessory into a true masterpiece. Each piece encapsulates resilience and flair, a living testimony to the artistry that seamlessly blends endurance with elegance.

The Hudson Yards is more than a watch; it's an embodiment of transcendent versatility that traverses oceanic depths and ascends to Michelin-starred heights with unparalleled grace. A choice that captures the essence of both opulence and functionality, the Hudson Yards is a mark of distinction that leaves an indelible impression.

The history of Gevril watches is a story that combines an illustrious watchmaking past with an innovative modern revitalization. The company origins date back to the mid-18th century and Jacques Gevril, the gifted Swiss watchmaker who is the founder and inspiration of the eponymous brand.

Today the Gevril name endures thanks to the vision of a Swiss horologist and businessman who lifted the brand to its current heights as an established Swiss watch company.

Jacques Gevril was an up-and-coming watch and clockmaker in 1758 when he accompanied his colleague Pierre Jaquet-Droz on a trip to Madrid. There, the men presented a selection of complex musical automata to King Ferdinand VI. The king was so impressed he bought every piece.

Jaquet-Droz returned home the following year but Gevril remained in Spain to fortify his reputation as a master watchmaker and was appointed Royal Watchmaker by the king. Gevril lived in Spain for many years thereafter, refining his craft and producing watches for the Crown.

Gevril’s traditions were survived by future generations of Gevril watchmakers including Moyse Gevril and Daniel Gevril, who built their reputations on horological innovations and artistic enameling techniques.

Today Gevril pocket watches are highly collectible: one is even located in the Muséum Genève and another is part of the collection of the Wilsdorf family, founders of Rolex.
