Gevril Empire

Gevril Empire

Crafting something truly exceptional, enduring, and remarkable is an endeavor of extraordinary stature — a feat that Gevril has masterfully accomplished in its opulent creation: the Men's Swiss Automatic Watch, a regal masterpiece hailing from the illustrious Empire Collection.

In the realm of horology, the possession of imperial sovereignty, dominion, or rule pales in comparison to the commanding presence exuded by this timepiece. With the Empire Collection, one need not wield authority; it can be effortlessly embodied. This exquisite assemblage showcases a commanding 40mm round case meticulously wrought from stainless steel or adorned with the resplendence of gold and rose gold satin and polished finishes. The intricately patterned dial pays homage to New York's towering historical monument, casting a captivating symphony that harmonizes with concentric circle zones and counters, evoking an enigmatic geode-like allure. The revelation of an exhibition case back and the strategic placement of a seconds counter at the 6 o'clock position resonate with a symphony of precision, an affirmation of power that manifests in every ticking moment.

Adorned by a sumptuous strap of brown, blue, or black genuine Italian handmade leather, meticulously secured with a tang buckle, the Empire Collection evokes an aura of unassailable supremacy. It perpetually thrives upon Eta’s 2895 Swiss automatic movement, an embodiment of precision that sets it apart from the mundane.

Be you in the process of constructing a business empire or already reigning as a magnate of distinction, the Empire Collection confers upon you monumental success as your birthright. It invites you to rule your realm with unswerving excellence and grace, to ascend to the zenith of achievement with the grandeur of an emperor. In the resplendent realm of horology, the Empire Collection reigns supreme, transcending the mere concept of a watch and evolving into an emblem of your majestic journey.

The history of Gevril watches is a story that combines an illustrious watchmaking past with an innovative modern revitalization. The company origins date back to the mid-18th century and Jacques Gevril, the gifted Swiss watchmaker who is the founder and inspiration of the eponymous brand.

Today the Gevril name endures thanks to the vision of a Swiss horologist and businessman who lifted the brand to its current heights as an established Swiss watch company.

Jacques Gevril was an up-and-coming watch and clockmaker in 1758 when he accompanied his colleague Pierre Jaquet-Droz on a trip to Madrid. There, the men presented a selection of complex musical automata to King Ferdinand VI. The king was so impressed he bought every piece.

Jaquet-Droz returned home the following year but Gevril remained in Spain to fortify his reputation as a master watchmaker and was appointed Royal Watchmaker by the king. Gevril lived in Spain for many years thereafter, refining his craft and producing watches for the Crown.

Gevril’s traditions were survived by future generations of Gevril watchmakers including Moyse Gevril and Daniel Gevril, who built their reputations on horological innovations and artistic enameling techniques.

Today Gevril pocket watches are highly collectible: one is even located in the Muséum Genève and another is part of the collection of the Wilsdorf family, founders of Rolex.
