Gevril Five Points - Automatic

Gevril Five Points - Automatic

Emanating from the very heartbeat of the City That Never Sleeps, The Five Points Collection emerges as a symphony of timekeeping luxury inspired by the ever-evolving yet timeless architectural tapestry of New York. Each piece is not just a watch; it's a statement of artistry and heritage, a fusion of innovation and Swiss craftsmanship that redefines elegance and sophistication.

A celebration of form and function, The Five Points Collection seamlessly marries heritage style with contemporary refinement. Its genesis lies in the intricate cityscape that never ceases to transform, a backdrop that lends inspiration to each meticulously designed piece. From the heart of Swiss horological mastery, the Sellita SW200 automatic movement resonates with precision, a tribute to the art of timekeeping elevated to new heights.

Endurance and elegance intertwine, as each creation boasts water resistance up to 50 meters, an assertion of unwavering performance. The stainless-steel polished bezel, a polished testament to craftsmanship, enfolds a push-pull crown, a flawless intersection of aesthetics and utility. A sapphire domed, anti-glare crystal stands guard, preserving a dial that is a masterpiece in itself, adorned with a calendar window and adorned with luminous external dots and hands. Every tick, every moment is a revelation, underscored by the exhibition case-back, a testament to the artistry within, where the visible rotor performs a ballet of precision.

But it is the distinct Handmade Italian leather straps that elevate The Five Points Collection to unparalleled heights of luxury. Available in a series of classic colorways, each strap is a canvas of refined taste, a complementary hue that completes the ensemble, a masterpiece that transcends mere accessory to become a statement of identity.

In every facet, The Five Points Collection is more than a watch – it is an embodiment of the city's pulse, an affirmation of your status, a symphony of luxury that weaves together the past, the present, and the future into a tapestry of timekeeping mastery.

The history of Gevril watches is a story that combines an illustrious watchmaking past with an innovative modern revitalization. The company origins date back to the mid-18th century and Jacques Gevril, the gifted Swiss watchmaker who is the founder and inspiration of the eponymous brand.

Today the Gevril name endures thanks to the vision of a Swiss horologist and businessman who lifted the brand to its current heights as an established Swiss watch company.

Jacques Gevril was an up-and-coming watch and clockmaker in 1758 when he accompanied his colleague Pierre Jaquet-Droz on a trip to Madrid. There, the men presented a selection of complex musical automata to King Ferdinand VI. The king was so impressed he bought every piece.

Jaquet-Droz returned home the following year but Gevril remained in Spain to fortify his reputation as a master watchmaker and was appointed Royal Watchmaker by the king. Gevril lived in Spain for many years thereafter, refining his craft and producing watches for the Crown.

Gevril’s traditions were survived by future generations of Gevril watchmakers including Moyse Gevril and Daniel Gevril, who built their reputations on horological innovations and artistic enameling techniques.

Today Gevril pocket watches are highly collectible: one is even located in the Muséum Genève and another is part of the collection of the Wilsdorf family, founders of Rolex.
